The itinerary sometimes deviates from the walking way to take scenic roads and avoid difficulties. This bike trip on small roads and tracks is more accessible than the Ultréïa bike Tour … The adventure on the Way of Saint James is offered to as many people as possible.
A rather road bike trip even if you take a few trails that can easily accommodate a cyclist-pilgrim. The end of the trip allows you to discover Conques after having skirted the magnificent Lot valley …

A little extra: The L’Autre Chemin agency is located in Puy-en-Velay – 5 rue Grangevieille, which allows us to easily meet you when you leave and to give us a good knowledge of the route.
IMPORTANT: Even if this course is more accessible than in its normal version, choosing this trip implies a good autonomy in the management of the bike: Knowing how to change an inner tube, putting back a “derailed” chain but also knowing how to ride a bike even on the tracks or small paths!

Buen camino ! From Le Puy, discover the verdant Dolaizon valley with its chibottes (shepherds' shelters). Keep on the small roads to avoid difficulties in the direction of Saint-Christophe sur Dolaison then Seneujols before joining Montbonnet and further on the Lac de l'Oeuf (by a track). Soon you reach Saint-Privat d'Allier then you descend the road to reach Monistrol-sur-Loire d'Allier and the Eiffel bridge which spans the river.

If you plan to travel with your bike, please make sure of certain points:
If it is an electrically assisted bicycle, the battery must have a minimum power of 400 watts. Attention: the battery must be removable, if this is not the case, please contact us to check the possibilities of reception.
It is imperative that it be in perfect working order before departure. Consider getting it checked out.
Thank you for providing an adequate repair kit as well as a smartphone holder on the handlebars
Our routes mix small roads and paths, your bike must be hybrid, mountain bike or gravel with suitable tires. City and road bikes are therefore to be avoided – If in doubt, call us!
Extra night in Le Puy
