Charming bike tour

Take advantage of a big weekend or a short stay to take care of yourself and discover typical villages of Haute-Loire, in particular the magnificent villages of Bigorre and Moudeyres, in which you will be welcomed in the magnificent Hostellerie du Pré Bossu *** which will offer you a very gourmet meal in a unique and warm atmosphere.

Your route is made up of gentle routes, small roads and accessible paths. The altitude difference and the kilometers are moderate to enjoy your weekend quietly without pressure.

A route by electric bike or, according to your desire, by mountain bike which makes you discover: the mountain landscapes, a volcanic lake, meadows as far as the eye can see, the architecture of stones and thatch and the Altiligerian gastronomy.

But that’s not all, the trip by electric bike allows you to meet and exchange easily with the inhabitants of Haute-Loire.

Day 1 : Your arrival in le Puy-en-Velay

A day of discovery of the town of Puy-en-Velay.

The opportunity to discover the Vella city ! You will stroll and discover the upper town of Puy-en-Velay by taking the secret streets.

Day 2 : Le Puy-en-Velay - Moudeyres - 37km - D+930M

You will take the Puy greenway then we will invite you to join the Transcévenole route to reach Monastier-sur-Gazeille made famous by the Scottish writer Robert-Louis-Stevenson. You will then follow in the footsteps of St Régis on the GR430 to discover charming little villages: Freycenet la Tour and Moudeyres (village of thatched cottages)

DAY 3: LOOP DISCOVERING THE HIGHLANDS - 46.5KM - D+955M

Today, you will discover an endearing territory, the highlands of the Mézenc massif with its volcanic past which has shaped the landscape. You will evolve between 1200m and 1300m altitude and will set off to meet the Saint-Front lake, the narces de Chaudeyrolles, the Boutières cirque and of course Mont Mézenc.

Day 3 : MOUDEYRES - Le Puy-en-Velay - 51km - D+755M

From your accommodation, you will travel along a very pleasant little road in the heart of the meadows to reach the hamlet of Bigorre and its magnificent thatched cottages and why not discover the Souteyros waterfall at the same time. You will then descend one of the most beautiful roads on the plateau which penetrates into the Aubépin valley before returning towards Puy-en-Velay by driving along the Chemin de Compostela (Geneva route).

If it is an electrically assisted bicycle, the battery must have a minimum power of 400 watts. Attention: the battery must be removable, if this is not the case, please contact us to check the possibilities of reception.
It is imperative that it be in perfect working order before departure. Consider getting it checked out.
Thank you for providing an adequate repair kit as well as a smartphone holder on the handlebars
Our routes mix small roads and paths, your bike must be hybrid, mountain bike or gravel with suitable tires. City and road bikes are therefore to be avoided – If in doubt, call us!
