Pedal your electric bike around the places made famous by Robert Louis Stevenson, following the Saint Régis Trail, sections of Saint

Day 1 : Your arrival in Le Puy-en_velay

A day of discovery of the city of Puy-en-Velay.
The opportunity to discover the Vellave city. ! You stroll and discover the upper town of Puy-en-Velay. Take the secret streets, discover the Cathedral starting point of the Way of Saint Jacques de Compostela.

Day 2 : Le Puy– MOUDEYRES - 37 KM - D+865M

Follow the footsteps of Robert Louis Stevenson until you reach Monastier-sur-Gazeille, then cycle along the St Régis Trail (GR 430) through quaint little villages such as Freycenet-la-Tour, Moudeyres with its thatched cottages, and St Front with its 12th century church.

Day 3 : MOUDEYRES – LES ESTABLES - 47 KM - D+ 955m

Today you will come out onto the high plateaus of the Mézenc, which boast lush pastures, herds of Fin Gras du Mézenc cattle and characteristic houses. Take advantage of your stopover in Les Estables to climb up Mount Mézenc (the rooftop of the Haute-Loire).

Day 4 : LES ESTABLES – FAY SUR LIGNON – 42 KM - D+ 1160M

From Les Estables, head towards Les Boutières then down to the village of Borée, where you can admire its strange dolmens before crossing back into the Haute-Loire near Fay-sur-Lignon, which plays host to a horse fair every October.

Day 5 : FAY SUR LIGNON – LE CHAMBON SUR LIGNON – 39 KM - D+465M

Today, you will follow various paths and roads to Saint Agrève before pedalling along the banks of the Devesset lake. If the weather allows, you can have a dip in the lake or try some water sports.

Day 6 : LE CHAMBON SUR LIGNON – QUEYRIÈRES – 37 KM - D+800M

A day riding across the Lignon and Meygal. The route takes you through Chambon-sur-Lignon (a village that was honoured as Righteous Among the Nations for saving Jews in Nazi-occupied Europe) then on to your day's destination of Saint-Julien-Chapteuil, capital of the Meygal, where you can admire the church and visit the Jules Romain museum.

Day 7 : QUEYRIÈRES – LE PUY-EN-VELAY– 34 KM - D+330M

The last stopover of your holiday. To return to base, take the GR 65 (also known as Saint James' Way) then cross the Loire at Brives-Charensac before following the Puy-en-Velay cycle path.

If you plan to travel with your bike, please make sure of certain points:

If it is an electrically assisted bicycle, the battery must have a minimum power of 400 watts. Attention: the battery must be removable, if this is not the case, please contact us to check the possibilities of reception.
It is imperative that it be in perfect working order before departure. Consider getting it checked out.
Thank you for providing an adequate repair kit as well as a smartphone holder on the handlebars
Our routes mix small roads and paths, your bike must be hybrid, mountain bike or gravel with suitable tires. City and road bikes are therefore to be avoided – If in doubt, call us!
