Your hike : The Stevenson trail – Act 2 from Chasseradès to Saint-Jean du Gard
You have already walked the Stevenson Trail Act 1 or you wish to hike the Stevenson Trail from Chasseradès.

Discover the Forest of Goulet, Mont-Lozère but also Pont de Montvert, Florac where you will meet the Tarn, the Lot, the Tarnon … before setting off in the direction of Col de Saint-Pierre and towards your final stage of Saint-Jean du Gard.

A hike in the great outdoors offering you an encounter with the Cévennes, the Camisard lands and the vegetation of the South of France …

The route does not present any particular difficulties even if the elevations remain significant. Fortunately the landscapes crossed are sublime! You can find some tips for preparing your hike.
What we like: The ascent of Mont-Lozère, the smells of the south of France that the path takes and the whispers of the fresh Mimente.

Day 1 : Your arrival in Chasseradès

You will be welcomed in your accommodation from 5 p.m. This will be an opportunity to share a meal with other walkers and soak up the atmosphere of the Chemin de Stevenson.

Day 2 : CHASSERADÈS - LE BLEYMARD - 18,5KM - D+510M - 5H30 hike

Today, 2 passes as a hike program, the first pass near Mirandol and the second the pass of Finiels to cross the Mont-Lozère. A athletic day which reserves you incredible landscapes on the Cevennes.

Day 3 : LE BLEYMARD - PONT DE MONTVERT - 20KM - D+655M - 6H hike

Gorgeous step between South and North. Climb the Mont-Lozère and enjoy its landscape to 360 ° breathtaking. The descent to Pont de Montvert is beautiful between moor and granite blocks. You enter the lands of the Camisards!

Day 4 : PONT DE MONTVERT - BÉDOUÉS / COCURÈS - 25KM - D+720m -6H30 hike

Climb above Pont de Montvert, the landscapes on the valleys are really spectacular ! Walk towards Florac crossroads of rivers: La Mimente, Tarn, Tarnon and the Pêcher river.

Day 5 : BÉDOUÈS - ST-JULIEN D'ARPAON : 16KM - D+375M - 4H HIKE OR CASSAGNAS (23KM - 6H)

Begin your day crossing the Tarnon river. Then walk along the clear Mimente river and its soft murmur. You reach Saint-Julien d'Arpaon, then Cassagnas. A smooth step (or almost!).

Day 6 : SAINT-JULIEN D'ARPAON - SAINT-GERMAIN DE CALBERTE :23,5KM - D+465M - 6H15 Hike (CASSAGNAS 15KM - 4H15)

As almost every morning, you start your day with a beautiful climb in the forest. up, the scenery is just amazing. The odors change, you walk in the southern land, a subtle blend of vegetation smells of the South of France ...

Day 7 : SAINT-GERMAIN DE CALBERTE - SAINT-JEAN-DU-GARD : 22KM - D+655M -6H15 Hike

A day to reach the magnificent Col de Saint-Pierre overlooking the Gardon. You enter the Gard and you just have to go down slope to reach the sweet town of Saint-Jean du Gard bathed by the Gardon.

Day 8 : BACK TO CHASSERADES

You will be picked up and your luggage in the center of Saint-Jean du Gard to reach Chasseradès.
