Multi-risk cancellation insurance is important

These situations can sometimes be complicated and to avoid adding financial worries related to the partial or total loss of the sums invested in your trip, remember to check your insurance, bank cards can sometimes offer you coverage but remember to check this before leaving and especially the conditions of coverage that they can offer.
To ensure peace of mind when you travel, L’Autre Chemin offers a comprehensive insurance and cancellation policy for all its trips through its partner, Chapka Assurances. This partnership allows you to plan your trip with greater confidence and minimizes the financial impact of cancellation or interruption, provided the reasons fall within the scope of the coverage.

A “Peace of Mind” breakage & theft commercial guarantee included for bikes in the L’Autre chemin park
L’autre Chemin bikes have a peace of mind bike guarantee – Breakage/theft insurance
By choosing a cycling trip with L’Autre Chemin, your rental includes a “Peace of Mind” guarantee covering potential damage to or theft of the bike (provided it belongs to the L’Autre Chemin fleet). Please note: This commercial guarantee does not apply when traveling with your own bike or for bikes rented from a third-party company.
This commercial warranty covers, subject to the conditions and limits specified below:
- Damage sustained by the bicycle, excluding the items specified below
- Theft involving assault or break-in.
The Peace of Mind Guarantee:
To limit the impact of any damage to the agency’s bicycle during your stay (subject to the exclusions specified below), please contact the L’Autre Chemin agency within 24 hours to explain the circumstances and nature of the damage and to send us photos of the damage incurred.
To limit the consequences of the theft of agency bicycles—whether by assault or break-in (exclusions specified below)—please contact the L’Autre Chemin agency within 24 hours to explain the circumstances, provide us with the police report, and hand over the lock key (or the cut lock itself, if available).
Note: In the event of failure to comply with the claim reporting deadline, the customer will not benefit from the “Peace of Mind” guarantee.
The “Peace of Mind” guarantee deductible:
When the damage caused to the bicycle or the theft of the latter falls within the conditions of coverage of the guarantee, the tenant will pay the excess set at:
- In the event of repairable damage: 20% of the repair costs (parts & labor)
- Dans le cas d’un vol ou de la destruction totale du vélo, le montant forfaitaire de la franchise est fixé à :
- €500 for an ebike
- €200 for a standard bike
- €80 for a trailer
What is not covered by the “Peace of Mind” guarantee:
- Intentional damage;
- Damage resulting from clearly inappropriate use, such as jumping, acrobatics, competitions, or transporting additional passengers;
- Damage resulting from the use of the bicycle on terrain that is clearly unsuitable or outside the suggested routes, where such use is the cause of the incident;
- Damage resulting from driving under the influence of alcohol or narcotics;
- Damage arising from the personal civil liability of the traveler or a third party;
- The loss of the bike ;
- Theft when the bicycle has not been properly secured with the supplied lock;
- Non-fixed accessories;
- Bicycles owned by the traveler or rented from a third-party company
In the event of damage not covered by the “Esprit Serein” commercial warranty, repair or replacement costs will be charged to the traveler based on the equipment’s market value, in accordance with the applicable terms.
