Day 1 : Your arrival in Le Puy-en-Velay

A nice opportunity to discover the ancient town an the European capital of Saint-James way.
On the morning come and join us in Coubon wher you can leave your car and take your bikes.

Day 2 : Le Puy - Goudet - 45km - D+700m

Join the GR 40 by small roads and paths between mountains and forests offering magnificent views of the valleys of the Loire and Gazeille. You now follow the path of the Velay volcanoes tour to reach the gogeous village of Goudet.

Day 3 : Goudet - Les Estables - 34km - D+ 1080m

You now follow the path of the Tour des volcans du Velay to reach the village-resort of Les Estables nestled on the high volcanic plateaus of Haute-Loire.

Day 4 : Les Estables - Queyrières - 46KM -D+815M

Admire the landscape from the Croix de Pécata (starting point of t of Mézenc climbing), before riding around the Alambre Mount towards Moudeyres (thatched roofs) and Saint-Front to discover its volcanic lake. A wonderful journey between high plateaus and Meygal Sucs ... Gorgeous !

Day 5 : Queyrières - Saint-Paulien - 41KM -D+840M

Today, you will ride through the volcanic Meygal to reach the Loire valley and climb to the ancient capital of Velay - Saint-Paulien.

Day 6 : Saint-Paulien - Montbonnet - 55KM - D+1190M

Keep-on biking around the volcanoes ... Discover the Mont-Bar, a Strombolian type volcano before joining Allègre and the Potence (the ruins of a XIVth century castle).
Ride through the high forests of Fix-Saint-Genet and then switch to new volcanic chimneys which offer an incredible 360 ° panorama .

If you plan to travel with your bike, please make sure of certain points:

If it is an electrically assisted bicycle, the battery must have a minimum power of 400 watts. Attention: the battery must be removable, if this is not the case, please contact us to check the possibilities of reception.
It is imperative that it be in perfect working order before departure. Consider getting it checked out.
Thank you for providing an adequate repair kit as well as a smartphone holder on the handlebars
Our routes mix small roads and paths, your bike must be hybrid, mountain bike or gravel with suitable tires. City and road bikes are therefore to be avoided – If in doubt, call us!
