A weekend admiring the thatched roofs on the high plateaus of the Mézenc. As you pedal along the stunning country lanes and easy trails, you will explore the villages of Moudeyres, Saint-Front and Bigorre.

Over moorland and through forests, this short tour is ideal for all the family, giving a great insight into the authentic beauty of the Haute-Loire and providing a real getaway in the land of the Fin Gras du Mézenc.

Day 1 : Your arrival in le Puy-en-Velay

A nice opportunity to discover the ancient town an the European capital of Saint-James way.
On the morning come and join us in Coubon wher you can leave your car and take your bikes.

Day 2 : Le Puy-en-Velay - Moudeyres - 37km - D+930M

After taking possession of your bikes, drink in the magnificent views of the Loire valley as you head over hills and through forests towards the village of Monastier-sur-Gazeille, which was made famous by Scottish writer Robert Louis Stevenson. You will then follow St Régis' Trail along the GR 430 through quaint little villages like Freycenet-la-Tour and Moudeyres.

Day 3 : MOUDEYRES - Le Puy-en-Velay - 51km - D+755M

Ride through an awe-inspiring valley filled with lupins and pines that runs alongside the Aubépin. Cycle to Les Planchas before continuing on to Laussone, then take the Transcévenole (an unused railway line) which takes you on a scenic route to Bouzols, where you can visit the château before returning to Le Puy-en-Velay.
