The Camargue and the Alpilles by Bike
Imagine starting a tour from the ancient city of Arles and cycling through the heart of the Camargue: the Camargue’s fields, the Camargue’s marshes, the Camargue’s seaside, and the Camargue’s Rhône and its herdsmen.
You’ll cycle along small roads, the Via Rhôna, and occasionally on trails and paths. You’ll enjoy an intensely wild landscape as you crisscross the Camargue Regional Natural Park, discovering Arles, a magnificent city, and Aigues-Mortes before reaching the seaside at Grau-du-Roi. You’ll then explore Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, a magnificent village with a strong character. Then, the Rhône delta will accompany your pedaling, with ferries taking you across some of its branches. The Via Rhôna will then take you back to Arles, where you can admire the Van Gogh Bridge. Then, the landscape will change, the slopes will become steeper, you will crisscross the Alpilles to conquer the Beaux de Provence… An unforgettable stay made of discoveries by bike, encounters, heritage but also wild and preserved nature, a true haven of peace for birds, flamingos, horses and of course bulls…
