Continue the adventure on the Saint-Guilhem trail from Sainte-Énimie to Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert. Climb the Causse Méjean and enjoy the wide open spaces before reaching the Jonte Valley and then the Cirque de Navacelles before reaching Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert.

Day 1: Your arrival in Sainte-Énimie

Welcome to Sainte-Énimie, a magnificent village in the Tarn Gorges. Stroll through its narrow streets and enjoy the waters of the Tarn.

Croix sur le causse Méjean
Day 2: Saint-Énimie - Les Nivoliers ou Mas St-Chély- 17km - 4h30 - D+680M / 11km - 3h

3, 2, 1... It's time to climb to the fabulous Causse Méjean. The climb offers unique panoramas of the Tarn Gorges... The Causse Méjean offers almost desert-like landscapes between pastures and rocks. Soon, Meyrueis and the Jonte Gorges await you at the end of a challenging and magnificent stage, traversed by the landscapes.

Meyrueis, gorges de la Jonte
Day 3: Les Nivoliers / Mas St-Chély - Meyrueis -16km - 4h - D+280m/ 21km

Continue your walk along the Causse, home to Przewalski's horses, and soon Meyrueis and the Jonte Gorges await you, at the end of an incredible change of scenery.

Day 4: Meyrueis - L'Espérou - 21km - 7h15 de marche - D+810m

Today, the scenery changes as you return to forested landscapes as you head further to Camprieu. Further on, you'll enjoy views of the Aigoual Massif Valley.

Day 5: L'Espérou - Le VIGAN / Avèze - 22km - 5h de marche - D+290m

You'll lose altitude to reach Aulas and then Le Vigan. Take your time ;-). You'll continue your hike alongside the river and its waterfalls. You'll reach the village of Avèze.

Day 6: Le Vigan / Avèze - Cirque de Navacelles - 22km - 6h15 de marche - D+590m

The highlight of the Saint-Guilhem Trail: the Cirque de Navacelles! A section that's a bit exposed for walkers prone to vertigo, but if you take your time, there's no reason to ;-)

Day 7: Navacelles - La Vacquerie de Castries - 20km - D+540m

A beautiful start following the Vis Gorges. After a steep climb, you'll reach the village of Saint-Maurice de Navacelles. From here, take the GR74 to La Vacquerie and Saint-Martin de Castries.

Note: Due to a landslide in the Vis Gorges, a diversion has been implemented to reach Saint-Maurice de Navacelles.

Day 8: La Vacquerie de Castries - Saint-Guilhem le Désert - 20km - D+385mm

Today's final stop will take you to Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert and its treasures, along the GR74 and GR7 trails, which will take you to Mont Saint-Baudille, offering spectacular views, and then along the Cirque de l'Infernet.

Day 9: Journey back to Sainte-Énimie

End of your stay where you will be expected at 10:30 a.m. for your return shuttle to Sainte-Énimie (Arrival expected at 1 p.m. depending on road conditions and stages on the route).

    Parking in Saint-Énimie To park a vehicle for several days in Sainte-Énimie, choose:

    • The parking lot located along Rue de la Chabiscole (at the top of the village)
    • The parking lot is located at the exit of the village towards Ispagnac / Florac.

    You can find them on the map. Do not park in the gravel pit parking lot, which is in a flood zone, or on the main street (there are opportunities for events on this street).
