The Credential The pilgrim’s passport to be stamped at each stop. We offer the Credential of the Friends of the Way of Saint James as an option. No need to travel; it will be sent to you with your travel diary before your departure.

Trip with your own bike or a rental bike

For this trip, we do not offer bike rental. If you are planning to rent a bike from a rental company, please make sure to check the following points:

• If you are using an electric-assist bike (e-bike), the battery must have a minimum capacity of 500 Wh. Please note that the battery must be removable. If it is not, please contact us so that we can check whether we are able to accommodate your bike.
• The bike must be in perfect working order before departure. We recommend having it serviced beforehand.
• Please make sure to bring an appropriate repair kit as well as a smartphone holder for the handlebars.
• Our routes combine small roads and off-road trails, so your bike must be a hybrid/trekking bike (VTC), mountain bike (MTB), or gravel bike, with suitable tyres. City bikes and road bikes are therefore not suitable.
• Our trips range from moderately to more physically demanding. Handlebar baskets and large city-style panniers should not be used. You will be riding on trails, and this type of equipment can affect the bike’s balance and make it difficult to transfer the bikes. Front mudguards should also be avoided, as they can interfere with the way the bikes are loaded onto the trailers.

Note: The stages along the trail are determined by the walking pace that we feel is most appropriate. We strive to offer you stages that offer comfort, discovery, and authenticity in hotels, guesthouses, cottages, or unusual accommodations.

Half Board

When you choose a half-board trip, which generally includes a set-menu dinner and breakfast, we invite you to let us know about any food allergies or special dietary requirements you may have. Please note that breakfast may be either continental or international, depending on the accommodation.

The establishments should normally be able to accommodate the needs of travellers:

• with confirmed food allergies (allergies involving the immune system and potentially causing severe reactions such as anaphylactic shock), such as allergies to honey, nuts, shellfish, etc.
• vegetarians (Due to the complexity and significant constraints this places on accommodation providers, we are unfortunately unable to organise trips catering for a vegan diet.)
• following a diet for religious reasons

For food intolerances (digestive difficulties in processing certain foods, with symptoms that are purely digestive, such as lactose or gluten intolerance) and other dietary restrictions, we will inform the accommodation providers in advance. However, some establishments may find it difficult to accommodate all dietary requirements, which are becoming increasingly common. We therefore thank you in advance for adapting your food consumption to the meals provided during your stay and, if necessary, bringing any additional foods or supplements you may require, such as gluten-free bread.

By Train

Conques-en-Rouergue does not have a train station. However, if you’re arriving by train, here’s some information on how to get to Conques.

• From Paris: Arrive at Saint-Christophe train station, then take a taxi to Conques.
• From Paris, Bordeaux, Toulouse, or Marseille: Arrive at Rodez train station, then take bus line 223 (during school term) or a taxi.

By Car

Conques is accessible by road. Here are the main mileage indicators:

• Lyon: 360 km
• Marseille: 370 km
• Toulouse: 185 km – A68 then RN88
• Montpellier: 205 km
