Day 1: Your arrival in Cahors

Welcome to Cahors, a magnificent city cradled by the peaceful waters of the Lot River. On the agenda: beautiful half-timbered houses, narrow streets, and of course, the magnificent Valentré Bridge, which will accompany your pilgrimage on the GR65 (Greater Long Distance Route).

Day 2: Cahors - Lascabanes - 24,5km - 6h20 - D+490m

You'll return to the trail from Cahors. A real joy, even if it's steep after the bridge ;-) You'll walk along small roads and white trails through the forest... How the landscapes will have changed since your departure!

Day 3: Lascabanes -Lauzerte -25km - 5h45 - D+545M

You will continue your walk along beautiful white trails through cultivated landscapes. You will reach Montcuq, its tower and narrow streets - a village that still resonates in the collective unconscious with the sketch of the little reporter (1970). Your walk will then continue to reach the hilltop village of Lauzerte.

Day 4: Lauzerte - Moissac - 27km - 7h30 - D+530M

From Lauzerte, the path will plunge into the forest and climb a hill where you can discover a dovecote. This will also be an opportunity to take a last look at Lauzerte. The route alternates between forest paths and sometimes following the road. You will soon reach Moissac, where you can discover the charm of this beautiful medieval town.

Day 5: Moissac - Auvillar - 21km - 5h30 - D+425M

It's a pleasant start to the day to walk along the Garonne Canal before crossing the Garonne. You'll then reach the pretty hilltop village of Auvillar.

Day 6: Auvillar - Miradoux -13km - 4h - D+350M

You will continue your journey, alternating between forest tracks and small country roads. Your steps will take you to discover the Arratz River before reaching the small village of Saint-Antoine (half-timbered house, beautiful gate). Continue to Flamarens, which is home to a pretty castle and the remains of the Saint-Saturnin church. You will soon reach Miradoux.

Day 7: Miradoux - Lectoure - 15,5km - 4h15 - D+280M

You'll walk alongside sunflower fields, forests, and distant landscapes, including Gachepouy Castle. You'll continue through a cultivated, hilly landscape. Soon, the imposing bell tower of Saint-Gervais Cathedral will announce your arrival in Lectoure.

Day 8: Journey back to Cahors

Meet at 9:30 a.m. where your return will be organized by shuttle from Lectoure to reach Cahors (Arrival expected at 12:30 p.m. depending on road conditions)

The Credential The pilgrim’s passport to be stamped at each stop.

We offer the Credential of the Friends of the Way of Saint James as an option. No need to travel; it will be sent to you with your travel diary before your departure. However, if you plan to attend the Pilgrims’ Mass at 7 a.m. at Le Puy Cathedral, you can find credential on site. Price: €7 / credential when booking your hike

Cahors is accessible by road, particularly the A20 motorway, which connects Montauban to Vierzon.
