The Camino de Santiago from Conques to Cahors gently (shorter stages)
We suggest continuing the adventure with leisurely stages between Conques and Cahors. We’ve planned shorter stages to allow you to walk at your own pace, enjoy nature, and take your time. On the agenda: discover the rich heritage of the Quercy Blanc region, the natural surroundings dotted with dolmens, and follow paths surrounded by dry stone walls and leading to cazelles (cazelles). A Camino de Santiago that continues to reveal its secrets between Conques and Cahors. Your route will cross Aveyron, Lot, and the Causses du Quercy, offering a wide variety of landscapes and the chance to discover villages ranked among the most beautiful in France. Conques, of course, a Romanesque jewel and spiritual center, marks the starting point of this stage with its Sainte-Foy abbey church and famous tympanum. Then Decazeville, a former mining area, before heading back up to Figeac, a town of art and history where Champollion was born. Your journey will then take place alongside dry stone walls and dolmens before reaching Cahors and its Valentré bridge, a medieval masterpiece listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
